Routine Audits Created to Torture

So, we found out about a week ago that our workman's comp company is putting us through a routine audit. At first we were not alarmed because we are honest about what we report, but then we spoke to our accountant and received a notice from the company telling us what we needed to prepare for them. The amount of sweat and tears that is going to go into this is ridiculous. We have already been working on it for days and haven't even made a dent. The thing that is most frustrating is that in over 6 years we have only had one tiny claim. Personally, I think that because so many companies are going out of business, the workman's comp company is trying to drum up money by making sure everyone is paying every penny. At this point I am obviously bitter...maybe I will be more optimistic in a week or two when the work is almost done. We will see.

  1. What could they get you for if you've paid what you owe? Hopefully they are nice people when they come! good luck on it all though. I hope you can get a lot of work done before you start your new job! Be sure to post about your new job when you start, too! Love you!

  2. It's not really a matter of being worried that we will have to pay anything. It's more that we have to do so much really annoying work to prep for it. I'm sure it will be fine. Sadly, even though we worked a bunch, I didn't get through too much of the work before Weds. It will be okay though.
